my response to "some recent facts about the national idea"

Reader comment on item: Immanuel Kant vs. Israel
in response to reader comment: Kant vs Israel

There's a misleading typo in my previous response to the post. Somehow my answer got submitted while I was in the midst of adding some language so my addition was cut off in the middle.

You'll see the word WHY capitalized in each of the first two lines of my post. There should have been a few more words after the second WHY, then a closing parenthesis. Instead, the parentheses are never closed, and it looks like a run-on sentence that doesn't seem to make sense. My point was to elaborate that scientists want to be able to understand how things will continue to work in the future, so facts of the past or present obviously concern scientists, but this is concern with facts -- while a part of the concept of what a scientists concerns himself with -- is NOT the essential defining trait of a scientist. The fellow "myth" disputed my original statement that sciece seeks truth, saying NO, it pursues FACTS. I guess I don't need to reiterate my original response to myth which shows how preposterous this statement is.
