Utopia is nowhere! On Mr. Pipes´ addendum dated August 17 concerning the Left.

Reader comment on item: Immanuel Kant vs. Israel

Submitted by Isaac Haskiya (Sweden), Aug 25, 2010 at 12:06

The days of working for better life-conditions for the low-income class are long past. The healthy values of those who accomplished a lot for their hard-working voters have changed. Today´s European Left flies the flags of global humanism, pacifism, secularism, one-definition democracy - their own -, world-conscience, all of them under the umbrella of the United Nations that is considered to be a new kind of divinity. What the UN says is law! It was this very Left that criticized the US for its war in Vietnam, giving thus its support to North Vietnamn and leaving all doors open to Communism in its unfortunate southern counterpart. It is still the same Left that continuously harasses the US for its wars in Iraq and Afghanistan- they could indeed have been administered with different strategies- but still they have Islamic attacks and further threats as their motive. The Left thinks that the US should have turned the other cheek. The same attitude goes for Israel. "Do not respond" the Left says and sees no fault in the behaviour of the other side. This movement has become an intellectual hobby with very little sense of reality and a lot of political mannerisms. Surely Utopia is wonderful, but where is it? Nowhere! That´s what the word means.
