Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf to convert the now-shuttered Burlington Coat Factory into a mosque.

Reader comment on item: The Temple Mount's Indian counterpart

"...Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, founder of the Cordoba Initiative, talks about his proposal to convert the now-shuttered Burlington Coat Factory on Park Place, two blocks from Ground Zero, into a mosque. "...

I understand that perhaps English may not be his 1st language, but the word "Convert" sounded too suspicious to me.

Did he say it by "accident" or in his mind he really wants to CONVERT the building into a mosque, and CONVERT infidels' minds to Islam, and CONVERT our vision of Islam into something good. Among so many verbs that are commonly used and so many synonyms to this idea- he used the word CONVERT!!!

This, in addition to the name Cordova- former capital of the Islamic strong Caliphate of Cordova (which I addressed in a previous message) as if the expansion of the Caliphate is doing splendidly, make me really stop and think what is the real purpose of this Imam.
