Reader comment on item: Islam and Islamism: Faith and Ideology

We can no longer pretend that the world's relationship with Islam is anything other than one of fear and apathy. In my mind those who pretend that it has advanced civilizations even at it's inception in the 7th century, is covering up it's history of victory by the sword, especially against those who question the words and deeds of the founder.

How can that house stand? The man who built the cornerstone was the very one who lived a life that pleased no one but himself, promising anything and everything to those who would follow him, severed heads, rape, fear, and agony his legacy and his instructions to continue until the end of man's time on earth.

Can a person have a relationship with YHWH and a relationship with a deceiver? No, I think not, and we are seeing the result of our attempts even today to pretend that it is possible. Fixing up a house that is built on a weak foundation will not make it a better house. On open house day the wise will see through it's pretty facade and notice the cracks forming on the floors, the walls, and the ceiling.
