Separation of Church and StateReader comment on item: Islam and Islamism - Faith and Ideology Submitted by Michael Kermon (United States), Nov 22, 2007 at 10:20 It is my understanding that there was never any intention to 'separate' church from the 'state', it was the intention to keep the church from influencing government as it was in Europe. The whole point of defining a new government was to break away from the bondage of Europe, which was being ran by the Church and dictatorship of that Church. It is evident to me that throughout the constitution the verbage used is indicative of the government being established under the rule of Americans who recognize one God and the freedom to worship God in a society that does not RULE the land with the principles of the Church-state of Europe at the time. I believe it is a grievous mistake to remove God from all things American. This mindset however, is also indicative of where we are in time. My feelings echo many that Islam is the administrator of the evil one. There is so much to support that, especially within the Qur'an itself. In this time it was prophesied, "Even the most elect will be fooled." This is just more prophecy being fulfilled. I am praying for God's mercy over His children.
