"The fight to educate the 'general public'" has been lost a long time ago....

I think the "general public" is far to lost in entertainment and advancing self glory, career, and many other irrelevant activities. "Education" will be a bore until the general public suffers much more than it has.

Generally speaking a population to long outside the environment of suffering eventually looses any interest in anything beyond chasing after pleasures and positions of power. Most would have to be sent back to grade school just to get their attention. When 9/11's are personal for the majority, then there will be "education". The pain that is brief, is soon forgotten.
