Middle east culture if cruelty

Reader comment on item: Caught on Tape: The Middle East's Culture of Cruelty

Submitted by dev (India), May 15, 2009 at 14:25

Cruelty is a feature of almost all moving species. Man has excelled and surpassed all creatures including dinosaurs in inflicting cruelty not only on fellow human beings but also on poor innocent animals for no fault of theirs .The difference amongst humans is that a few feel the pain of victims whether human or animal where as few others have no mercy upon others. This is because of conditioning of mind of the few who feel that they have the right of to be sole inheritors and custodians of every thing in this world including the claim to have only true religion in the world.

The atrocitites on poor and weak occur every where in the world but every where it is not sanctioned by law or authorities as it is permiited in middle east even today. The sad episode is reflection of lack of democracy and free press in middle east and presence of a subservient authority for perpetuation of illegitimate rule and power of autocratic kings and dictators but above all due to lack of compassion and sympathy and crudeness of culture which is not uncommon even back home here in India too.
