Extremism Submits to Truth in the Final (Biblical) AnalysisReader comment on item: The Limits of Terrorism Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), May 13, 2009 at 14:26 As the discussion of this series of exchanges continues, it brings to mind the scripture found in Ecclesiastes 1:9, that nothing under the sun changes. So it is as the debate of western (Christian) values versus those of Islam (eastern?) values makes little headway for the lack of either side conceding to the other. At the risk of being incessant, they are the very same arguments found in the past, differing here from those of history only in that there is a marked sense of a lost conviction from some parts of the western culture as we read of governments taking a politically neutralized (emasculated) stance in the face of the Islamic onslaught. From that position, one might gain a sense that the proponents of Islam have some expectations and encouragement that they are going to have a prominent place in the world eventually, as some have speculated here. And to a certain extent, there is a certain veracity to that point. Only in Biblical truth is there a place to come to an understanding. For a long time, Biblical exegesis could not provide a full picture of the circumstances regarding the battle modern Christianity faced in regards to the banner under which the forces of the anti-Christ would rally, until the recent resurgence of Islam as a political force in modern western societies. Now the portrayal of the battle in the political context can be seen, along with the power that supports the white horseman in Revelation 6:2. Nothing can controvert Biblical truth. Mankind has tried from the time of the garden to attain some form of godhead in human circumstances, only to find that everything, which could be thought about anything in this temporal life, has already been considered by Almighty God: mankind has failed to recognize this. The final analysis, argument and determination is found in the Holy Writ of an Almighty God Who has exhibited eternal patience, waiting for mankind to get the final clue that dependence upon the WORD of the LORD is the only way to get it right; and He is still waiting for that from humanity. The only thing remaining before the closing episodes of this recent history are completed is to be waiting upon the LORD when He determines that enough is enough. The Gospel will have been taken to the ends of the earth and the last voice seeking redemption from his/her sins (maybe the assailant of the last Pope claiming to want to convert to Christianity) is heard on high; and then it will be accomplished, ready for the tribulation to commence. Islam will have its moment then. Then the world will find out that Biblical understanding (evangelical truth, not extremist religiosity) was the right path to follow after all, and seeing Jesus Christ on the throne validates and justifies the faith of every person who accepted Jesus Christ as LORD.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
