Limiting Terrorism

Reader comment on item: The Limits of Terrorism

Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), May 4, 2009 at 15:46

There has been much written about terrorism, beginning so long ago, and with us still; and yet none has been able to come up with any success as to how such a thing can be eliminated from peaceful societies. Now why is that?

We have been told, name it; and then it can be defeated. Yet the kassams keep falling.

We have seen the usual suspects of terror imprisoned, only to be released by the scores in deference to a hostage exchange of hundreds to one.

We hear words of defamation by clerics against western society for the ills caused over the centuries, and yet we see no difference in the means for 'equalization': death to all who do not conform.

The truth about terrorism cannot be expressed nor contained in any forum that permits human reasoning to define it. For it is in the human experience that violence exists to be exploited for irrational reasons in order to plunder and eradicate love. Find out how to trap and keep love in the human heart; and therein lies the means to limit, and eventually, eradicate terrorism.
