The Ultimate End of Terror - Is There Escape?

Reader comment on item: The Limits of Terrorism

It can be generally acknowledged that terrorism is not limited to contemporary times. Nor can it be limited to a certain sector of history's populations, such as the Sabeans and Chaldeans of ancient times, through the raiding of the Tatars, or of the fabled raiders of the Khyber, to today's self-proclaimed army of the Prophet. Do we include the colonizing activities of the several imperialistic realms over the years, such as the Persians, Greeks, Romans, and whoever else one cares to name for the perceived infamies in the name of the crown? We may even take the religious zealotry of the Muslims in the name of their Prophet, or the crusaders who took the LORD's name in vain for their attempts to drive back the conquests of Islam, as examples for an errant mankind trying to impose a rule of one ideology over another. Except for the differing basis of reason for justification in all of these examples (and this sampling barely scratches the surface of history's myriad accounts), terror has been the bane of humankind's existence.

In all of this a distinction needs to be made, that in all of the perceived beliefs that could be named for reason enough to perpetrate these acts of ideological passion, accusations made towards true followers of Jesus Christ are in error, for He made no requirement to conquer or terrorize for the faith. Mere mortals who have forsaken the truth of following Jesus Christ are to blame for taking His name in vain while working against His will in violation of His Word to spread the Gospel. This was done by the enemy of mankind to turn human hearts against the love of Jesus Christ and the salvation He offered by His death on the cross. This violation of His WORD, the Holy Bible, is the ultimate basis for terror against humanity, and it is the work of the Adversary of all humanity.

The activities of those today who are in the terror business (and their ideology is plain to see) are perpetuating that work; but those days are limited. As we read of the insolence of the nations who have defied the sensibilities of a world seeking peace by continuing their progress to become nuclear powers, we will come to understand that terrorism on a regional scale will be overshadowed by the resurgence of the nuclear cloud of uncertainty once thought lost by the collapse of the superpower cold war. Worsening the scenario, when smaller world entities spoke in jealous tones of the nuclear capability of the United States of America, they did not have the need to fear an America use of such power, unless they provoked it upon themselves by making a threat of obtaining such power for hostile purposes. Now terror has taken a new dimension, that of being global on a scale no one is prepared to handle. Terror of that magnitude has no limits, and we can plainly see who has brought that into play. Try and blame the Americans, but even in spite of America as being the only nation who has used nuclear force to end a world war, it will not be America that will start another world war by terrorist nuclear actions.

There is only one escape from the precipice the world is falling towards, that individually people need to trust in the Almighty God of the Holy Bible through Jesus Christ. Without that trust of faith in belief in Jesus Christ, there will be no escape from the terror of those times we see already started and happening right now. Belief in anything else will not prepare anyone for the circumstances that have commenced by the actions of the belligerent attempts of the two powers trying to hedge against the world with their nuclear ambitions. Unrestrained and unfettered in the progress, they will be in position to make their demands in the face of a world reluctant to act in their own defense, and when that time arrives, none will be able stop it, let alone limit it. Preparation for escape will be the only defense then, make no mistake about it.
