Easing in Islamism

Reader comment on item: The Limits of Terrorism

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Apr 23, 2009 at 16:37

That Islamism is changing its tactics in some instances is true enough, but also very disturbing. It seems that people are gullible and if something sounds good in theory, then it must be good. Islamism is just another "ism" to join the ranks of Fascism and Communism, but it is now smoothing the way by non-violent means. Communism sounded great in theory, that is, until you see first-hand in countries such as Russia, one aspect of Communism, in which the impoverished citizens were forced to live in inhumanely small apartments without proper bathrooms or bedrooms, while the cadres lived in hedonistic splendour in country dachas. Within any "isms" there are shocking disparities of what is real and what is imagined or desired; vast populations are deceived into believing a lie, but it's almost always too late to reverse the damage done.

The last paragraph in Dr. Pipes' article raised my curiosity, so I looked up "Islamic computer games" on Google and came across this interesting site: www.islamicgoodsdirect.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/2228.

This game is for Muslims and non-Muslims alike, to test their knowledge in different areas, law, the Q'uran, etc. Very interesting how "soft jihad" is moving in, while terrorist acts are still being committed. It would seem that catching flies is easier with honey than with vinegar. Yes, it is true, "we are on notice" but who is paying attention?
