Ms. Clinton is a lawyer: she must know the law

She sat in the Senate too. She knows very well that the US government cannot give money to Hamas. Therefore, mendacity, not stupidity. And a weird kind of vanity. It's like kids wearing the Arafat scarf: it's in this season.

Why the Israelis don't fire a missile for a missile, I'll never understand. Why, when they are accused of besieging Gaza, they don't really do it until the enemy is starved into submission, I'll never know. This could be over quickly and with a minimum of pain. These donations and truces and conferences are only extending the pain of Palestinian Arabs. There is no diplomatic solution: the solution is military and it ends in unconditional surrender, military government by Israel until true democracy can be enforced (they did it in Japan) and the Gazans can take over without throwing their opposition members off tall buildings. With enough tough love, Gaza could beat the West Bank to sovereignty. Maybe we'll have a 3 state solution eventually but not before the "Peace Process" has a stake through its heart.

The US too has this weird affliction: packages of food coming down with bombs to show how compassionate they are. Vietnam too. And Korea. And this nonsense about Abu Graib - worse hazing is done to freshmen in rush week every September on hundreds of college campuses throughout the US. True compassion is a quick total victory... then people on all sides can get on with living. But who has the guts for it?
