Remember the Left

Reader comment on item: [Finding Moderate Muslims:] Do you believe in modernity?

Daniel Pipes does a great job in analyzing the Middle East and the war in Iraq as well as the implications for modernity. However, the greatest problem is now the political Left. Left-wingers are committed to shut any debate on the Middle East and the current threat to the United States, Israel and Russia. The main aim of the Left is to prevent any kind of open debate on these delicate issues and that leaves us defenceless against the threats we are receiving. The Left is imposing its PC discourse and has already managed to prevent any debates on human rights and civil liberties. The Left is over-emphasizing the importance of human rights and civil liberties at a time when we are under attack. Some topics are taboos and we are not suppoused to discuss them. Unfortunately, with the current state of affairs, if we abide to the doctrine of human rights we are going to be subjugated. Take the example of Russia. If Putin had the burden of human rights (as in Europe and America), he might never succeed in defending the Russian Federation from the current attacks. Left-wingers blame Putin for invading Chechnya while there is no alternative to such action by the Russian army; the alternative would be to be attacked and killed in the Russian territory. PC is not very strong in Russia and Israel. Good for them. In Europe and North America, nothing can ever be done without being harrassed by the Left. Left-wingers insist on human rights and civil liberties whereas , at the present time, there is no time for PC concerns. If Israel adopted this left-wing mentality, it would soon be destroyed and annihilated. If Putin's Russia took a more left-wing approach, there would be endless violence against Russia. The Left does not understand that and they never will. Europe and North America are already obsessed with human rights and civil liberties. In this kind of situation, we are all very vulnerable.
