Where Are the Moderate Muslims?

Reader comment on item: [Finding Moderate Muslims:] Do you believe in modernity?

Submitted by Richard Rheiner (United States), Nov 26, 2003 at 09:47

Dear Dr. Pipes.

I am an ardent admirer of your scholarship and your kind heart but I put the question to you. Where are the Moderate Muslims? The silence of their clerics is deafening and becomes more so with the destruction of synagogues, the murder of innocents, and their refusal to loudly condemn these acts.
