why oslo was doomedReader comment on item: Why Oslo's Hopes Turned to Dust Submitted by Neil Abramson (United States), Sep 10, 2003 at 12:47 Arafat has expanded for some time the terms of engagement. he has in a sense taken away, or certainly diluted, the basic cause of Palestinian natiionhood in to a pan arab movement. surely he reasoned the combined resources of these states would give him unlimited support and further he would garner the help of reconstructed marxists and those who felt that this was another imperialist projection of the U.S. These feelings meld into the existing politics of french, italian and german socialist and social democratic parties. The use of terror has been a tactic of marxism since its inception, only few among the Palestinians seem to have realized that they have been betrayed. just as Hitler destroyed Germany by turning what was an extreme right wing, nationalistic movement into an international racially based one. as Voltaire said "history does not repeat itself, men do.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
