The lessons of OsloReader comment on item: Why Oslo's Hopes Turned to Dust Submitted by Jeffrey S. Sheff (United States), Sep 10, 2003 at 00:56 I have viewed a DVD by the name of "Relentless", produced by honestreporting.com.It places the blame for the failure of the Oslo accords on the failure of Yasser Arafat to live up to any of his obligations under those accords. The impression that one gets from this film is that, if the demands of the "roadmap" are not overlooked this time; that the Palestinians educate their citizens for peace and acceptance of Israel and prevent incitement; that the terrorist groups be dismantled and the PA obtain full authority for internal security; and, finally, that Arafat be removed from power over security and finances, a worthwhile treaty could be reached. Does Dr. Pipes believe that even under these conditions, a "deal" should not be attempted?
