...[T]he right policies....Reader comment on item: Why Oslo's Hopes Turned to Dust Submitted by Charles T. G. Pickett (United States), Sep 13, 2003 at 04:32 Diplomats, statesmen, ours not "theirs", in fact, all peace-loving people (I am one), in hot pursuit of noble endings, very often fail to reconcile themselves to the lamentable fact that doing the very same thing over and over again and expecting different results is---well, stupid. Good intentions alone will not win the day.Sadly, these loftier enterprises ignore the baser realities of human nature. No sting, no consequences. In this context, the Israelis, I believe, will eventually be regarded as the lynchpin in the gobal equation: the result or outcome of which portends no less than the continued ascendancy or fall of the west. They simply must stand on the high ground (read "Heights") at all costs for all time. The alternative is for certain a descent into the infernal regions. Whether fairly or not, all things past considered, this is their charge. I'm heartened by this. After all, the Jew throughout history has been superbly conditioned to champion the task at hand. God bless them all. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
