Correction to Number of CasualtiesReader comment on item: Why Oslo's Hopes Turned to Dust Submitted by Michael Gruda (Israel), Sep 12, 2003 at 09:19 Daniel Pipes wrote:"Instead, Oslo brought the Palestinians poverty, corruption, a cult of death, suicide factories and militant Islamic radicalization. The Israelis have mainly suffered from terrorism's toll of 854 murders and 5,051 injuries, plus assorted economic and diplomatic losses." I believe that the number of Israeli casualties since Oslo has in fact been considerably higher. The number referred to in the article is the number of casualties since the so called 'second intifida', launched three years ago. These numbers can be seen at the following site: http://www.idf.il/daily_statistics/english/1.doc Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
