"Irredentist" ?

Reader comment on item: Why Oslo's Hopes Turned to Dust

Submitted by Virginia Thogersen (United States), Sep 10, 2003 at 10:32

"Palestinians have irredentist dreams... "

irredenta \n : a territory historically or ethnically related to one political unit but presently subject to another (Webster's)

irredentism \ n : a political principle or policy directed toward the incorporation of irredentas within the boundaries of their historically or ethnically related political unit (Webster's)

I had to look it up. I couldn't imagine any kind of dream about dentists that would not be a nightmare.
