Reader comment on item: Why Oslo's Hopes Turned to Dust

Submitted by Walter Kopilow (United States), Sep 9, 2003 at 14:37

Israel cannot tolerate a "state" on its borders that wants to destroy it. The Israelis must continue to decapitate the terrorist organizations. Each time it grows a new head, take it off as well.

Your comments about the "Handshake" and the reaction of Arafat was spot on. One can never negotiate from a position of weakness, that is not the way the United States "won" the Cold War.

Once Arafat and the rest of those butchers realize that Israel will not roll over and play dead, they might then realize that they are finished.
