The open air cremation request isn't such a big deal. As a Sikh, I disagree with it for environmental reasons. But it still isn't a big deal. It bothers me to see all "asians" lumped together. Sikhs and Hindus are very different from Muslims and Sikhs have a long history with the British. Multiculturalism works. Just apparently not with many many Muslims in the UK.
