Secular Democracy in the entire Islamic World

Reader comment on item: Away with Crusaders, Crucifixes, Crosses, and Christmas

Dear Dr Pipes, some days ago I made the what may be the first unequivocal call for genuine secular democracy in all Islamic countries. Period. That is what we need. If democracy is incompatible with Islam then Islam --not democracy-- needs to change. It cannot be any more clear than that. When Pakistani Army slaughtered millions of East Pakistanis in 1970s, India had to help the refugees. When ISIS destroyed Syria, Europe had to absorb Syrian refugees. When People run away (or boat away) from the Islamic north African nations, Italy has to rescue them. When Moroccan Muslims do not like the Chrismas trees, Belgian cities have to replace them with ugly glass structures to satisfy Muslim sensibilities. If we have to take care of the man made problems of the Islamic world, it is appropriate if we demand that they use solutions designed by us. Hence this demand for secular democracy in the Islamic world with no ifs and buts.

Muslim concern regarding Trump's win in the US, clearly indicates that Muslims love democracy and understand its value whereever it exists. It is high time that they return the favor. This is the biggest need of our time.
