Reader comment on item: Away with Crusaders, Crucifixes, Crosses, and Christmas

Submitted by Patrick Lau (United States), Mar 3, 2006 at 12:57

Whay does it always seem that our muslim brethern are always on the attack to change western civilization. England has used the cross and the crown for centuries, and I am not sure how England was founded bur I believe it was in the form christian beliefs. Here in the us the attack is also on, by way of using our system and laws to their benefits. This country was founded by puritans that were escaping religious persecution from England. The united States is also founded by the christian faith, and yet still we are starting to conform to their ways.....It's not right.

If I move my family to Iran, Syria, Jordan just to name a few, my wife has to put on the veil, and we have to conform to the standards of their country or be persecuted by their Islamic laws. If I worked for the police and there was a Islamic religious symbol on my uniform I would have to wear it. I could not say anything about it. God forbid if you say something in vein about their beloved Mohamed. There will be a beheading at hi noon.

If we in the western world ie: US, England, europe etc. start changing our flags, and historical symbols to appease these people that is the beginning of the end. That's like changing history of a culture. I am protestant, and I believe in God and I know he is with me where ever I am. I do not force my religion or beliefs on anyone else. I also know that God cannot do things for me. I as a human being have to be self motivated to do things on my own with the gifts I got from God. But I have to say the religion, and cultural differences will be the down fall of the human race. We as an animal just cannot stop the thirst for conquering one another. Might as well just nuke the whole planet, and in a 100 years when the dust settles we can start from scratch again. Hopefully I will not be here and I will be sitting in a nice tropical place sipping Pina Coladas all day with my twelve vestal virgins at my side.
