RE Mahdi/Amadinejad

Reader comment on item: The Mystical Menace of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Submitted by Eddie Clark (United States), Aug 17, 2006 at 17:30

Christians and others refer to Messiah in scriptures, but the name of the person is Jesus the Christ. The Islamic title of Mahdi is named Mahmoud or Amed and is characterized by prominent facial freatures and a somewhat large nose according to the Shiite interpretatation of Islamic Quran. The president of Iran seems to fill some of these physical qualities. The similarities in name, Mahmoud Amadinejad , is fascinating to me. Could it be spelled Amedinejad?
