if I'm not mistaken I think that according to the most authentic collections of hadiths (in sunni theology) that jesus is the messiah, and that he will come down the steps of the omayyad in damascus to fight the (dajjal) what is reffered to as the anti-christ..supposedly on the forehead of the dajjal will be written ka-fa-ra, analogous to 666 most likely.

There seems to be a seperate refference to this mahdi as someone who teams up with jesus..(but this part is unclear to me what this means) does this mean that the mahdi is just one who is following jesus? perhaps..in some apocryphical christian texts it almost seems as though there are two messiahs....but in any case neither bush nor ahmadinajad are messianic, sure Bush thinks god is instructing him and talking to him directly and ahmadinajad thinks he is in communication with the mahdi but that stuff is just plain absurd...
