The concept of the Jewish Moshiach (Messiah) requires that he doesn't use intimidation or violence to accomplish change in the world.

This is an excerpt from an article that gives an excellent real-life example of what we expect of such a man (yes, a man, not a "god").

"In September of 1989, the Rebbe declared the upcoming Jewish year 5750, "The Year of Miracles," predicting miraculous things to come. Just a few weeks later, the face of Europe underwent a drastic and sudden change. One after the other the Communist regimes of Eastern Europe collapsed, felled not by guns and bombs but by peaceful demonstrations in city squares in which the people simply declared their demand for freedom.

One man foresaw it all. In 1985, the Rebbe conveyed to his Chassidim in Russia—those running his underground network of religious institutions—that the worst was now over. In early 1987 he instructed his Chassidim in the Holy Land to build a housing settlement and set in place employment opportunities for the floods of Russian Jews who would soon arrive.

Professor Herman Branover, a noted Soviet émigré and scientist, relates of a conversation he had with President Gorbachev, during the latter's visit to Israel several years later. When he told Gorbachev of the Rebbe's instructions to prepare housing for the influx of Soviet Jewry, the president seemed surprised. "I myself," he said "had not yet come to the decision to initiate these changes."

The Rebbe also assured us that the best miracles were yet to come, and so I am quite confident because of his words that the greatest danger a megalomaniac like Ahmadinejad represents is to themselves and others like him.

Now, here's a pertinent counter-illustration. Ahmadinejad, speaking as a "prophet-of-doom," said on Jan 05....

"....that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon "has joined his ancestors and others will soon follow suit", according to the state-run Mehr news agency."

But Sharon has not yet "joined his ancesters," thank G-d. And one can only hope that he continues to improve in every way!

As to Ahmadinejad's "others soon to follow"?

""An Iranian military plane crashed near the northwestern city of Orumiyeh on Jan. 9. Eleven people, including the head of the ground forces of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Brig. Gen. Ahmad Kazemi, and several top commanders were killed in the crash."

It's almost as if his hate-prayer were marked "return to sender."

The Messiah we Jews are awaiting is a Tzaddik (righteous person) like the Rebbe, through whom G-d will bring good to all humanity, even "sinners" who don't, to paraphrase King David, flaunt their guilt in everyone's face.
