in response to reader comment: Comparing The Biblical Antichrist And The Mahdi

Submitted by Jack Smith (United States), Mar 3, 2008 at 17:15

The Mahdi meets many of the prophecies of the Biblical antichrist. Some quite unique fulfillments include Rev 17:8, which states the "head," was, is not, and is about to come up from the abyss. The Mahdi meets this test because:

1. He was an historical person, the 12th Imam of Shiism, Imam Hasan;

2. He "is not"; the Mahdi is in hiding, absent from humanity. Shias refer to his absence as "occultation."

3. He is "about to come up fromt the abyss." The Mahdi is prophecied by Islam to "rise" at the command of Allah at a time of world chaos. The Bible's prophecy includes his arising from the "abyss," the abode of demons.

Thus, the Bible prophecies that this one will be a demonic incarnation of the Last Days. See www.whenthepiecesfit.org for more info.
