Keep to the argument Mr Burns

Reader comment on item: The Mystical Menace of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
in response to reader comment: Belief in their own mission

Submitted by JK (United Kingdom), Jan 11, 2006 at 09:21

Just to clarify for Stephen Burns as he obviously missed the point: My comments were an attempt to show that Mr. Pipes final notes could be equally be applied to George Bush as to any other despot. He certainly has a totalitarian streak (wiretaps without court orders, locking people away without trial or hope of one, vague definitions of torture) and he certainly has an arguably mystical belief in his mission (note how he told the Prime Minister of Palestine he was told by God to strike at Saddam).

So please, keep to the argument at hand. Pointless name calling and anti-Muslin ranting serve no purpose other than to provide humour for us insane, left-wing Europeans.

Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
