Reader comment on item: The Mystical Menace of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Submitted by Donald W. Bales (United States), Jan 10, 2006 at 11:55

Many people, to their later sorrow and distress, did not believe that Hitler really meant to do what he wrote in "Mein Kampf." Now we have possibly deranged, but functional leader in Iran. Iran is not Germany geographically or culurally.

However, its location right in the middle of Middle East near all those oil fields gives it a strategic importance. Germany had no oil and Iran has plenty. Germany had no nuclear weapons to put on its missiles, but Iran will soon have nuclear weapons and already has missiles that can threaten and intimidate its neighbors. The IAEA with its ineffectual chairman (didn't he get a bogus peace prize? There is no peace). The corrupt UN won't do anything. The blinded to reality European trio don't have a clue, and, if they did, they wouldn't do anything.

If the Iranians strike Israel, Israel will surely retaliate, but by then the Israelis will mostly be dead. Many Iranians will be dead, but not all. Radical Muslims don't seem to care how many of their people die as long as they die killing infidels. I suspect the leaders feel differently about their own lives than they do about their minions.
