If Jesus and the virgin Mary were depicted as football stars in a Muslim county, there would be public outrage - if you don't object to this in your country it is not our problem. Muslims can't take it upon themselves to defend every religion in the world, can they? Personally I think it's very disrespectful.

As for attacking Jesus Christ, I assure you, no Muslim would ever do that as we respect Jesus as the prophet (and not son) of God. If you do not defend your religion that is your problem. And since we're talking about freedom of speech, then Muslims are free to be angry if we feel disrespected.
