'Hamas activists' !!? Why don't you say that they are the elected representatives of their people?

- Why would an intelligent person say 'elected representatives of their people'? Unless you have been hiding under a stone for the past few months it is quite widely known that Hamas are the 'elected representatives of their people'. Why state the obvious? Or are you trying to say something else but having difficulties in phrasing?

Similar intelligent beings are also aware of the fact that Hamas are officially regarded by the US and the EU as a terrorist organisation and have been since well before their election. Hence the surprise. However, Norway is not actually in the EU and the Hamas representatives have not been invited to see any Swedish officials. Hamas have as much of right to tour Europe with their outstretched begging bowls as anybody else so I'm not sure what the fuss is about. Let them beg. It's good entertainment. As long as the Swedes and Norwegians don't fill up these begging bowls and these filthy savages pay for their own flights and accommodation rather than the Swedish or Norwegian taxpayer I'm not clear as what the fuss is about. But why bother? Surely they would do better to try and get hold of some of the money that Arafat stole from the PLO and start paying their own way for a change instead of relying on our handouts? That's what the 'elected representatives of OUR people ' would do..!
