In a perfect world...Reader comment on item: Friendless in the Middle East Submitted by liza (United States), Nov 10, 2011 at 02:21 ...democracy would bring about a freer and more moderate Middle East. Time is proving, unfortunately, just the opposite. This should have been expected due to current trend occuring among the Muslim global ummah. As our founding fathers wisely understood, flourishing democracies require a moral and self-disciplined citizenry. The Judeo-Christian cultural framework offers the right foundation for such a political system. Under a Muslim system, however, the results are proving disastrous. One must look for the common denominator among the current administration's actions and behaviors to uncover a method to the madness. It does exist.
