Islamists must have their chance

Reader comment on item: Friendless in the Middle East

Submitted by Lars Nielsen (Denmark), Nov 8, 2011 at 08:39

Mr Pipes is logically right, when he comments, that Tyrants are less dangerous to us westerners, as compared to islamists. But the ages of tyrants has gone. The middle east populations want democracy, and democracy means islamist parties.

Probably, such parties may get rid of democracy and create new tyrannies. However, the muslims have to learn that by themselves. We cannot convince them. And maybe, some islamists have already learned from Iran, that tyranny will lead the people away from them.
