Reader comment on item: Dueling Fatwas
in response to reader comment: Just another infidel

is the right to express an opinion superceded by an issued murderous threat? The fact that Islam issues murderous fatwas proves, without a doubt, that it, Islam, is not a religion of peace.

The truth is this: at some point we need to claim our right to express an opinion without a chilling fear of reprisal from any quarter. Freedom of self determination is central a true function of faith. Otherwise the practice of faith is no more than the bullying by the self righteous not only against those who would not serve God but also against those who would freely serve God . Is God the absolute judge? Of course. Is limited , finite, mortal man fit to judge in God's place? Of course not.

If a person chooses to reject muhammed as a prophet and his message as truth then surely God will judge that persons eternal fate without man's interference. So the question becomes "why the concern?" My conclusion is that Muslims believe a purity and holiness equivalent to God's own can be established on earth, a truly arrogant belief system. God's holiness is FAR beyond man's ability to achieve. To believe man can establish a holy spot on earth , even for an instant, and believing that God's Holiness can be matched or satisfied in any human way, that is practiced lunacy and reduces God's standards to that of man.

God does not lower his standard of Holiness to accept man's righteousness. Islam fails in every respect. Murderous fatwas are proof that Islam stands false.

I claim my right to this opinion.
