Aspacia,

Greetings.

From the 18th century onwards when there were three Islamic Empires, the Ottoman in Turkey, The Qajar Shahs in Iran and the Mughals in India, there have been any number of movements that have studied the problem of Islam by introspection and as was practiced then and now Islam for a more modern time. You are willing to call 1.5 billion people terrorists because you cannot handle a few thousand fighters who are running circles around you. It is the tenth year in Afghanistan and you are nowhere near a resolution of your choice, You call that fair ?

We do not claim to be perfect or known everything or try to tell the world that we do. If you are seeing a militant aspect of Islam today, it is because we have learned that we may have attained physical freedom but there is a battle on for our minds. The right to be the Muslims, the right to live by our beliefs however good or bad they may be, we prefer our belief to many other system of life because we have always claimed Islam is not a religion but a complete way of life, and the right to be equal citizens of this world. These are freedoms that the West has given itself but they are not available to us. We are preached to, talked down to and attacked and killed for no rhyme or reason and judged by western standards and value systems.. Iraq is the latest example of Western Imperialism..When we retaliate, we become terrorists. When we fight for our lands we became terrorists. So we are living in an unequal world. Would you like to do do that? Be a second class citizen of the world?

All we ask of you is leave us alone. We don't want your wealth we don't want anything from you. But this is a difficult proposition for people who want to" make the world safe for democracy."
