Bush, NIE and IranReader comment on item: That NIE Makes War against Iran More Likely Submitted by Ian Campbell (United Kingdom), Dec 13, 2007 at 05:01 This is such a realistic assessment that it will embarass the Realists who have contributed to the bind the Bush Administration has got itself into because of the original loss of credibility over Iraq. Worse still it was the White House that agreed to the NIE publication before they had warned their allies that it was coming out - once again revealing a depressing level of competence in the Administration. Facing down Iran has become more inevitable because of this publication and its manner. It guarantees that security will play a major role in the 2008 Presidential election - something that the success of the surge was beginning to eliminate. Step forward John McCain and Rudolph Giuliani.
