Kosher?Reader comment on item: That NIE Makes War against Iran More Likely Submitted by Blackspeare (United States), Dec 12, 2007 at 20:03 As my Jewish colleagues would say, "Something isn't Kosher!" The Bush administration is a highly secretive, micro-managed one and having an NIE issued at this time might just be a calculated maneuver just as it was in 2005. At this point in time Bush and his inner circle have one quest----to keep the Republican Party in power. Though Bush may appear to differ on the NIE's conclusions, it does help to diminish the beating of war drums and gives the Republican candidates freedom from a war platform. However, the onus is now placed on Israel and it doesn't take rocket science to understand that Iran is intent on building a nuclear arsenal. Time is not on Israel's side. Israel's perceived or real possession of nuclear weapons is their ace in the hole. Once Iran accomplishes that same objective, the dynamic is changed. I believe that, because of the stand-off, no one will actually use a nuclear weapon, but a very large conventional land war is in the offering----the one that will finally vanquish one side or the other!
