Preparing Israel to be the 'fall guy'

Reader comment on item: That NIE Makes War against Iran More Likely

Submitted by Allan Levine (United Kingdom), Dec 12, 2007 at 19:14

It occured to me that this latest report by the NIE, in direct contravention of their 2005 findings, is a strategy whereby the Americans now do not themselves have to do anything directly against Iran. Since they know that Israel cannot tolerate a nuclear armed Iran, and will have to eventually take action themselves to prevent this possibilty, which subsequently would mean drawing worldwide condemnation for this 'unnecessary act of aggression'.

In this way America takes itself out of the negative world limelight it has found itself since the Iraq war, and sacrifices Israel to achieve its ends.
