Money talksReader comment on item: Columbia [University] vs. America Submitted by Andrew Towne (United States), Apr 2, 2003 at 21:35 It's hardly an exaggeration to say that the entire educational/fine arts/entertainment establishment (what Marx would have called the "superstructure") has been taken over by sixties leftists and their supporters. Our university professors present their special pleadings (a fallacy) as serious argumentation. Not only are their conclusions false, their methodology is unsound. They are producing generation after generation of "educated" ignoramuses to the detriment of our society and the intellectual standards that they are supposed to uphold. As an alumnus, I will not give even a penny to the University of California or any of the other schools I attended. And I won't bother to tell them why I refuse to contribute. They should be able to figure it out for themselves. Once they get rid of affirmative action (and its surrogates, in the case of UC), pseudo-academic political "disciplines" like women's and ethnic studies, and stop blatantly discriminating against white males and conservatives, I will reconsider my stance. I advise the alumni of Ivy League colleges to do the same. The very worst offenders are such "elite" schools as Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, Michigan and Columbia. If you want to give money to educational institutions, much better to send it to a non-political junior college.
