Double-Standards and the danger thereinReader comment on item: Columbia [University] vs. America Submitted by Rube Longfellow (Germany), Apr 2, 2003 at 17:41 The boys at instapundit.com said it perfectly; and I mean *perfectly*: "would the university be so quick to protect his free-speech rights if he had wished for a million matthew frasers?".I'm moderate, not conservative, and I do not believe that the right free speech applies to hate-mongering in private institutions. In the end, it's a decision for the faculty and management of Columbia to take care of this knucklehead. If not, then it tells us where Columbia stands on the issue. Private institutions have a *right* to hire and fire people who publicly damage their image. This man should be working at the London Daily Mirror with Peter Arnett.
