Yes, Bob, everything you said is true. I have read extensively about Muslim slavery, and it was vicious and brutal. I am taking a class, "Economic Development of Poor Nations", and of course there is a section on the Atlantic slave trade, and how the depopulation of Africa has been devastating, and continues to be a reason for for its underdevelopment even today. Those baaaaad Europeans! Not a word on how vicious the Islamic trade was, that it started hundreds of years before the Euros set foot on the continent, and that it still persists today. It goes on to document how the British ruined the textile industry in India. The book recounts what a vigourous trade was carried on between India, Africa, and the Middle East. This was the Red Sea slave trade, but no mention of that of course!

Do you suppose I'll get an 'F' in the class if I suggest that the professor include this in the next addition? He and a colleague wrote the text we are using . :)

One other thing. It is always mentioned how "humane" Islamic slavery was. How can one call genocide humane? They slaughtered the men and boys of fighting age, castrated most males, and impregnated the women with Arab or Turkish seed. Are they not trying to wipe out the race? It is reported that the fertility rate of African slaves was low in the Middle East , and that infant mortality was high. Not so in North America, where, as you said Bob, there is a vibrant diaspora.

Americans of the African diaspora must truly be ignorant of history if they choose Islam over Christianity!
