Omar, in spite of the fact that you are practicing KITMAN, that does NOT change the facts. Where in the Koran did Muhammad abolish the slave trade? Muslims were heavily involved, sometimes enslaving their own co-religonists, which Mohammad opposed. There are contemporary sources which attest to this fact, such as letters to the Caliph complaining that Muslims were being raided and enslaved in Africa by other Muslims. African Christians had these complaints against their co-religionists as well.

Why is it that Muslims raided African villages, killing all of the men, and selling the women and children into slavery? African boys were subjected to castration, which had a 90% fatality rate. Is this why the evidence of the robust Muslim slave expeditions into Africa are not more evident in the Middle East, as the Atlantic slave trade is in the Americas, with a large diaspora? The women tended to have low fertility, and short life spans in the Muslim world, as opposed to the Christian world, where one finds just the opposite.

It is interesting to note as well, that long after the Christian world had abolished the slave trade, it was still alive and well in the Muslim world, in Africa as well as the Balkans and Caucases. Let's not forget the Barbary pirates. It was lawful for a Muslim to enslave any non-Muslim, unprotected person.

As far as blacks in America, the overwhelming majority are middle class or wealthy. Those who are not can trace their woes to the "recipe for poverty", of which the ingredients include being a highschool dropout, unwed childbirth, and drug abuse.

Omar, I pray that you will seek the truth. Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God said, "You shall know the truth, and the truth will make you free." May you become free indeed
