Sure Harrack, Sure, they recognized the US, allright, as a new infidel souce of plunder.

They attacked EVERY US merchant ship they could get at and enslaved every American infidel they could get their filthy hands on. That's why the US built their Navy to attack the moslem "barbarians" of the "Barbary Coast" in a series of "Barbary Wars".

With friends like the Barbary moslem states.........who need enemies?
