Reader comment on item: Reflections on the Revolution in France*

Submitted by Doug Schultz (United States), Nov 8, 2005 at 16:16

One can only imagine the sheer joy felt by Osama and his Al Queda buddies over this insurgency in Europe. The French are powerless to stop the violence and any more deaths of muslims at the hands of authorities is going to be like pouring gasoline on a burning burka. Curfews are not going to stop a thing unless backed by a harsh fist. It isn't there. The French cannot even bring themselves to admit that this is an 'Islamic' problem. Their country is disappearing before our very eyes and they are still concerned with how this plays in the press. Idiots, complete utter idiots!

I hope the money you soaked up from the UN Oil for Food scam keeps you warm at night, Jacques Chirac. Instead of backing us and the british going into Iraq, you chose to remain a nation of spineless weak elitists too concerned over money and too interested in appeasing Saddam. Well now you can lie back and enjoy the rape as Muslims, emboldened by your lack of courage, take your country away from you, one town at a time.

When the phone rings in the Oval Office, I do so hope George Bush has the answering machine on. The message goes something like this: I imagine the voice of Wilford Brimley or Senator Fred Thompson would do:

"Hello! This is the United States. We can't come to the phone right now as we are too busy solving the planet's current problems with Terrorism, Hurricanes, Tsunamis, Typhoons, Volcanoes, Bird Flu, Global Warming, Peak Oil, AIDS, Starvation in Africa, Corruption in the UN, Nuclear Proliferation and annoying Venezuelan and North Korean crack pot dictators. If you have voted and acted in the past to support us in our efforts to fight terrorism, press 1. Note, if you are French and you press 1, this call will be concluded. We told you this would happen and now you can lie in your own ... for awhile. If you failed to support us in the past to fight terrorism and still wish to speak with the President, please hold and the next available agent will take your call. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the Top 500 Hits of George Gershwin's Broadway Masters Collection! Thanks for calling!." *music plays*. Rhapsody in Blue........
