So poor old Sultan feels discriminated against because people look at him in a "funny way" or a woman he is hitting on prefers to move away. Perhaps the behaviour of your fellow Muslims towards western women might explain this. The other day, I was peacefully minding my own business sitting on a park bench when a man of Middle Eastern appearance plonked himself down next to me and asked me if I'd go to a sauna with him. The only really aggressive pick up attempts I get like that are always from Arab men. An unaccompanied women seems to be regarded as not much better than a prostitute.

I have a female friend from a Muslim country who is very glad to be out of it even if it means she doesn't see her family very often. She tells me she'd be covered and her freedom severely curtailed if she'd stayed behind instead of being an independent woman with her own income and profession, able to make her own decisions and choices, to go where she chooses, when she chooses with whom she pleases. That's the way we like it here in the West and that's the way we're going to keep it.
