The media's coverage of France

Reader comment on item: Reflections on the Revolution in France*

Submitted by Mary (United Kingdom), Nov 9, 2005 at 07:39

It has been quite stomach churning to read the fantasists on the pc multi-culti left and their deluded ramblings on France. They are hypocritical enough to hold up the multicultural UK as a model that France should aspire to while they imposed a complete media black out on the racist riots in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago, inspired by gang warfare between Asian Muslims and Afro-Caribbeans, the two ethnic groups that are consistently at the bottom of the pile in the UK.

France has always insisted on assimilation. While other minorities have achieved it successfully, Muslims never have. Their high illiteracy rates and under achievement are uniformly the same in every European country they migrate to in comparison with other ethnic groups like Hindus, the Chinese and Eastern Europeans.

The Danes, the Swedes and the Dutch, always held up as a shining light of tolerance and progressiveness are now suffering from aggressive, hostile Muslim communities who have formed themselves into high pockets of crime ridden areas and are intent only on creating victim status for themselves. Do the French really think throwing more money at people who only know how to demand their rights without giving anything in return is going to solve anything? Do they really imagine that Muslims will ever accept a Western way of life?
