Only France ?

Reader comment on item: Reflections on the Revolution in France*

Submitted by Ian Gibson (Canada), Nov 8, 2005 at 20:25

France is being shot for their social "accomodations" ? By the socially sensitive activists themselves, and not even by right incline wingers.

Reflecting out loud here, i was just thinking about the greener pastures outside of France (are there ?)

Unemployement:
Should we excuse the riots on explanations of unemployment ? If so, I still wonder why my Afro co-citizens have not done as much out here in the States or Brazil or even in the Arab world (Darfur and Morrocco ?).

Social injustice:

Hum ! Let me see here, how about the natives of South America, Riots ? Arms ? Rapes ? It seems their motivations for justice and a better future is based on reclaiming their powers and not useless destruction and auto-exclusion (generalized view) ...

Social issues:

Again, i look at South America where, for the last 15 to 20 years, has been transformed from dictatorial regimes to democracies... Natives have found a voice to face issues (such as major racism) and courageously risks a lot (that means their lives) and they rarely hide their face when dangers runs their way...Other South-American states have expelled tyrants and dictators and even military powerhouse, by uniting behind universal values and the quest for justice NOT CHAOS. And they had to face a lot more from the bad bad american intrusions than the Arabs of Oil Rich countries... There were many corporate obstacles to face and the fight is not finished and yet still, people in many countries of S.America now go down and DEMONSTRATE passionatly, not DESTROY HATEFULLY with surgical precision (Schools, churches etc...).

Racism !

Have you been to Morrocco or Agleria lately ? If not, and you don't have the guts to stand up for UNIVERSAL and not ETHNICO RELIGIOUS human issues, political fights and demonstrations, then my ears are just not up to the racist complaints. The French are just as racists as the Iranians, the Americans (that is Black and whites, Asians and muslim alike), the Russians and the Japanese. The racist excuse factor exposes something other than a social issue card.

The Focus is on France ???

Well then, from what I hear, any nation that is not Arab dominant is racist and injust and socially intolerant ? As far as I know, this is not a French issue, it's CURRENTLY a European and Asian Issue. The media don't pay much attention to the Thailand riots, the Cairo riots or even in Singapore where similar types of airy heady expressions of organized chaos is taking place. Yet, as for Europe, to limit this to France and continuously avoid naming the issue, and one of the causes at hand, is quite a lack of journalistic integrity.

Some will even compare this with the Hooligans .... Well, that might be an interesting observation if we like to think that in France there are two teams, the ideologist vs the rest of Europe. And for those into baseball or Hockey, we know that money can buy good players, but hasn't really yet guaranteed a lot of championships...

France needs help, not moral lessons !
