Reader comment on item: What Are Islamic Schools Teaching?

Submitted by ALI MUJAHID (United States), Jun 30, 2005 at 23:53

there always is another side of the picture.

1- if i wanted to get information about chemistry, i will consult a chemist, if i want information about space, i will consult an astronomer, or similarly if i need to cook a dish, i will require the advice of a cook. HOW COME A NON MUSLIM INFORM ANYBODY ABOUT "ISLAM" ?
this is simple logic that if a person himself is not practicing a religion, faith or ideology, how could he or she criticize that???

2- i grow up as a MUSLIM in Pakistan. i have studeid religion in the centre of the country which is known as quite fanatic and extremist. and i learned that Muslims are asked by Allah to respect other religions and their prophets. it is in the Quran that Muslims should respect other Prophets and the four Holy Books. i don't know what Islam is being discussed and represented today. if one wants to know the reality, he or she should have the courage to pick up a translation of the Holy book and check it up.

3- in Quran, their is a portion in the beginning of chapter 6, "Sorah-e-Mariyam" which states the whole event of the birth of Jesus from Mariyam (PBUH) and that portion is in the Quran to teach the Muslims that we should repsect other beliefs. and also that part is there as a proof to Contraversial people that islam is not a religion of hate.

4- AHMADI GROUP IS NOT AT ALL A PART OF THE RELIGION OF ISLAM.
Islam is based on accepting two realities.
A- there is only one God, ALLAH
B- Mohammed is the last Prophet of Allah.

Ahmadi group don't believe in the prophet hood of Mohammed (Sal-Allah-Hoo-Waa-Ally-Hee-Wasalim), hence they are also in no postion to express their views about Islam.

5- the readers/ viewers of this website should consider that a non-muslim saying anything about islam is exactly like a plumber suggesting a drug to a cancer patient. a plumber has to fix the pipes and its the doctors job to suggets a medicine becuase doctors studies medicien for years and years. therefore, if we want to clarify an issue about islam, we should try to consult an islamic scholar for that becuase they are the only authoirty on their subject.

6- as far as the issue of islamic schools is concerned, i think that as long as there are yeshivas and catholic schools in america, ther should be not only islamic schools abut islamic colleges and universites too in america.

THIS IS THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION WHICH SAYS THAT EACH CITIZEN SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE ONE'S RELIGION WITHOUT ANY INTERFERENCE OR RESTRICTION.

7- there is no such thing as a radical or a fanatic or extremist muslim. Islam is all about practicng the belief system becuase that continuation is suppose to provide us with inner satisfaction. hence either their are muslims in the world, or their are non-muslism. ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO CALL THEMSELVES AS MODERATE MUSLIMS ARE IN REALITY NON-PRACTIONERS. these people are a real loss for islam because they are moving away from what they are. they are unable to perform their duty towards God.

for example if we love somebody and say it to that person, we have to show it also. similarly if we say that we are God's creatures, we have to show it also that he is powerfull and we are very less in front of God.thats all the five times prayer is about.

i hope that i have clarified certian things. i don't intend to hurt anybody's feelings but somebody has to speak from the other side of the cave as well.

thanks.
