Well Islam is the only region that give equality to women. It gives right of inheritance, freedom to seek divorce, freedom to draft a pre-nuptual agreement - while jews and christians of the west were still living in the dark ages. The Prophet (PBUH) was the greatest liberator of women of all times. He gave to them 'respect', right to education, right to inheritance etc..and all the rights of women saying in Holy Quran which Allah tells us that rights.
