ISLAM IS A "SECT", NOT A RELIGION

Reader comment on item: Should We Blame a Florida Pastor for Deaths in Afghanistan?

Submitted by Ilene Richman (United States), Apr 7, 2011 at 11:53

I consider Islam a sect, not a religion. A true religion can be denounced without violence. Women in Egypt who were protesters were arrested and strip searched to see if they were virgins. This is a crime against women and humanity. Therefore, I state Islam is a sect that follows like sheep as the polygamist sect in Texas where 400 children were rescued and 133 women, many under age, were living with one man, Warren Jeffs. Islam follows the sect where people and children cannot think for themselves. They are all brainwashed as in Islam. So when you want to solve an equation, you have to find the solution. The solution to this problem is the brainwashing of people in Islam, equaling a sect. Human beings do not behave in the fashion of the murderers of the World Trade Center and the murders and beheadings in Afghanastan due to this "idiotic" preacher.

However, even if we do have free speech, one is not allowed to incite a riot. One cannot scream "fire" in a building when the building is not on fire. This pastor must be held responsible, as well as the murderers in Afghanastan for the horror created by his burning of the Koran. He knew he would cause an upheaval with a sect that has no belief in upholding human rights. And he then set the Koran on fire. Karzai is just as responsible for these murders for broadcasting this in Afghanastan. It is time to leave Iraq and Afghanastan, and bring our young men and women home from these mindless terrorists. I want them home now, not in 2014. These young people are in danger at all times due to the "sect" of Islam.
